Concrete Operational stage ages (7-11)
Children in the concrete operational are beginning to think logically but not hypothetically or abstract. Children in this stage tend to start to think logically and they start to understand reversibility. They start thinking children this age have are better at thinking inductively than deductively. Deductive meaning understand that something is true because of this reason. Inductive meaning they make broad generalizations from specific observations. For example, the grass was wet numerous times when it rained, so the grass always gets wet when it rains is an inductive reasoning. Deductive reasoning would be, when it rains, things outside get wet. The grass is outside so when it rains the grass gets wet. Reversibility is the ability to recognize that numbers or objects can be changed and returned to their original condition. For example, if a ball is inflated they know that it can be blown back up by putting air into it.
When teaching children of this age the study skill that worked best for them was show and tell and repetition. Repetition is always a great way to get a person of every age to remember something. Show and tell worked best for them because they were able to listen to what is going on and also visualize it. When helping children at this age:

- Allow them to practice show and tell
- Ask "why" questions
